Weston

The reference Wayland compositor maintained by the Wayland project, used to test protocol implementations and demonstrate compositor behaviour. It can also provide practical sessions through separate desktop, kiosk, IVI and headless shells, with configuration chosen for the shell and backend in use. Weston is the Wayland project’s compositor implementation and testbed, supporting both basic desktop use and specialised shells.
