Ion

A historic keyboard-driven X11 manager built around tiled frames and tabbed windows. Users split the screen into frames, then switch among clients within each frame; its text configuration controls bindings and session behaviour without requiring a mouse-driven desktop. Tuomo Valkonen created Ion as a keyboard-driven tiled and tabbed window manager.
